The following TYSL Board positions will be opening up this July.

 

President
The President is a Board level leadership position responsible for providing: 1) primary organizational leadership in all matters relevant to the successful operation of Tewksbury Youth Soccer League; 2) interaction with external entities (ex, Town, USSF, MYSA, MYSL and other town’s programs) and 3) development and support of organization strategies that deliver upon the organizations committed goals and mission.

  • Convenes and chairs all meetings of the Board of Directors, any Executive Committee and the Annual General Meeting.
  • Sets the agendas for all meetings of the Board and distributes said agendas prior to meeting date
  • Co-develops strategies with the functional workstream leaders (BOD members) that deliver against stated goals and mission
  • Serves as an ex officio member of all committees.
  • Represents and acts for the Organization on all external matters.
  • Convenes meetings of the Executive Committee, which makes decisions on the Board’s behalf for all urgent matters
  • In non-urgent instances where disciplinary measures appear appropriate or are recommended, the President will convene a meeting of the Disciplinary Committee

 

Treasurer

  • Pay monthly and seasonal bills (utilities, facility vendors, association fees, etc.)
  • Track revenue and expenses monthly in Quickbooks against prior year and budget
  • Pay referees bi-weekly during season
  • Issue reimbursement for league purchases
  • Oversee and consolidate yearly budgeting process in July
  • Present monthly and YTD financials at monthly board of directors meetings
  • Manage Venmo Account
  • Issue Scholarship Checks
  • Work with tax accountant to file taxes annually

 

Purchasing Director

  • Manage Purchasing Budget
  • Manage Equipment Inventory
  • Assemble/Distribute/Collect Equipment Bags each season
  • Manage relationship with uniform vendor (score sports)
  • Purchase Equipment as necessary
  • Purchase swag for snack shack, etc.
  • Manage and assign uniform numbers each season
  • Participate in sub-committees

 

Communications Director

  • Responsible for all league communications (eg. emails via TeamSnap, social media via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter)
  • Manage TYSL website updates
  • Manage TYSL TeamSnap & Gmail accounts

 

Kindergarten Director

  • Soliciting for coaches/assistant coaches prior to the season and ensuring they complete all necessary certifications and checks.
  • Assigning coaches/assistants and players to teams in TeamSnap.  Need to manage team sizes as well as special requests for certain players/teams.  Also need to work with registrar for special circumstances/troubleshooting.
  • Working with coaches to formalize practice and game schedules, distribute equipment bags, discuss general rules and expectations, and provide practice plans and suggestions.  Checking in regularly during the season to see how things are going.
  • Triaging questions and concerns raised by coaches and parents throughout the season.
  • Communicating relevant information (I.e parking reminders, raffles, season dates, field closings etc.) to coaches and parents throughout the season.
  • Flowing feedback to, and participating in, BoD meetings and activities.
